ABSTRACT
O crescimento mundial da população idosa e a busca pela promoção da saúde dos idosos emergem como desafio a ser superado em relação ao envelhecimento humano. Promover a saúde do idoso é o horizonte que deve ser alcançado visando a um envelhecimento saudável. O presente trabalho tem como objetivo apontar elementos da Educação Popular que possam contribuir com a Promoção da Saúde dos idosos. Trata-se de um estudo qualitativo, realizado por meio de uma pesquisa participante, em que foram estudadas as questões relacionadas à prevenção e promoção da saúde do idoso, no contexto da extensão universitária desenvolvida na comunidade, a partir de vivências em Educação Popular. Os dados foram coletados por meio de entrevistas e diário de campo, e submetidos à interpretação hermenêutica e dialética. Para o presente estudo estão destacadas duas categorias de análise: a realidade do idoso como ponto de partida do cuidado e o diálogo como via de realização do cuidado. Verificou-se que, na perspectiva de Educação Popular, a valorização do contexto de vida do idoso e o diálogo potencializam um modo de cuidado desenvolvido com a pessoa idosa com vistas à promoção da saúde, uma vez que essa perspectiva educativa favorece os processos de autonomia e empoderamento. Sugere-se, assim, que os profissionais de saúde busquem orientar suas condutas de cuidado a partir dos referenciais teórico-metodológicos da Educação para a Saúde, tendo em vista contribuir de forma mais efetiva para a promoção e manutenção da saúde do idoso. The global growth of the elderly population, and the search for enhancing the elderly health emerge as a challenge to be overcome in relation to human aging. Promote the health of the elderly is the horizon that should be reached aiming at a healthy aging. The present work has as objective to pointing elements of popular education that can contribute to the promotion of the elderly health. It is a qualitative study, conducted through a participatory research, in which we studied the issues related to prevention and promotion of elderly health in the context of university extension developed in the community, from experiences in popular education. The data were collected through interviews and field diary, and submitted to dialectic and hermeneutics interpretation. For the present study are highlighted two categories of analysis: the reality of the elderly as a starting point of care and dialog as a means of carrying out the care. It was found that, in the perspective of popular education, appreciation of the context of the life of the elderly and the dialog potentiate a mode of care developed with the elderly person with views to health promotion, since this educational perspective favors the processes of autonomy and empowerment. It is suggested, therefore, that the health professionals seek to guide its ducts of care from the theoretical-methodological approaches adopted to Health Education, with a view to contribute more effectively to the promotion and maintenance of elderly health. O objetivo deste relato é sistematizar a experiência com metodologias ativas dentro da formação técnica do agente comunitário de saúde da Escola Técnica de Saúde da Universidade Federal da Paraíba. O curso está organizado em etapas, tendo sido concluída a primeira, cujo propósito foi o de contribuir para a construção da identidade dos agentes comunitários de saúde. A aplicação de metodologias ativas leva o discente a refletir sobre o seu processo de trabalho e a transformar a sua realidade, beneficiando-a, tendo em vista que desperta nele o senso crítico e a busca de mudanças em sua relação consigo mesmo, com o usuário e com a comunidade em geral. Os resultados foram positivos, inclusive no que diz respeito ao fortalecimento do uso de metodologias ativas no processo ensino-aprendizagem da escola formadora.
The purpose of this report is to systematize the experience with active methodologies within the technical training of community health agents of the Federal University of Paraíba's Technical School of Health. The course is organized in stages, the first of which has already been completed and was aimed at contributing to building the identity of the community health agents. Applying active methods leads students to reflect on their work process and transform their reality, benefiting from it, given that it awakens a critical sense and the pursuit of changes in their relationships with themselves, with the user, and with the community at large. The results were positive, including with regard to strengthening the use of active methods in the teaching-learning process used at the school providing the training.
